Winter Resilience Funding

LLCCDC confirms it has successfully obtained funding from the Scottish Government Safer Communities / Resilience Division.

Individual grants of up to £1,000 were made available to community groups for use as part of their winter resilience planning activities.

LLCCDC has now purchased a number of grit bins, shovels, rock salt and spreading equipment and has made it available for local groups within the Latheron, Lybster and Clyth Community Council areas.  This equipment is to assist with local winter “be ready” arrangements and will complement those already provided by The Highland Council.

The application was made with the full endorsement of the Council and was supported by our local Ward Manager, Mr Alex MacManus.

By making this equipment readily available, we hope that it can help prepare our local community to respond to adverse weather which we are likely to encounter.

If any community groups would like some equipment or advice, contact LLCCDC in the first instance. 01593 721283
